Home Visit Consultation
Home visit consultations can ease the hassle of ongoing medications and regular visits to the vet.

If you are wanting assistance with end-of-life decision making for your pet, a consultation with a veterinarian can be a valuable tool for guidance and support.
When is the right time?
Does my pet still have quality of life?
What can I look out for?

At Home Quality of Life Assessment

Home visit consultation with a veterinarian including a full physical examination of your pet, discussion of medical history and medications, and review of your pet's daily routine.

Information about your pet's home life can be valuable in assessing their quality of life. Behaviour, mobility, appetite, hygiene, toileting, and other at-home factors that contribute to your pets daily routine will be discussed.

You will receive guidance and support in determining your pet's quality of life and wellbeing, as well as around end-of-life decision making. In some cases, recommendations can be made on how to improve or maintain your pet's comfort and quality of life.
Please note that this is a consulting service only and the veterinarian is unable to perform diagnostics such as blood or urine testing. In some cases, the veterinarian may be able to prescribe or administer medications. Options for further end of life and palliative care may include recommendations for a visit to your local veterinary hospital or ongoing home plans. During the consultation, we can answer any questions you may have around what to expect if you wish to pursue these recommendations.

If together, peaceful in-home pet euthanasia is decided upon, you may elect to proceed during the visit or arrange a future home appointment.
Tele-health Consultation

Alternatively, you can speak directly with a veterinarian over the phone to discuss your pet's quality of life and wellbeing and to prepare for end-of-life decision making.

A Telehealth consultation may be helpful for guidance and support if you are thinking that it may be the right time but finding it hard to make the decision.

Please note that a tele-health consultation is most appropriate for follow-up quality of life consultations or if only general advice, recommendations and support is needed to make a decision. Without an in-person assessment, the veterinarian is unable to diagnose, treat, or offer individualised end-of-life plans.

Ongoing medications

Home visits may be useful for pets that require ongoing injectable medication (eg. arthritis injections: Cartrophen, Beransa, Solensia) but find repeat vet visits quite stressful.

Please enquire if you think ongoing home care may be appropriate for your pet.
